Construction in Movies
When we think about any movie we usually think about actors mostly. Usually interior designs don't take our attention during the watching except the parts when a main hero destroys everything around him or her. But construction themes could be found in many films and series as an important part of the story.
For example, "Wall of Secrets" (2003) movie was about a young couple who started a new life in an apartment with cameras hidden in walls. Someone built into the drywall "eyes" to save any moment of tenants’ lives. Or "Secret in the Walls" (2010) where 17-years old girl was locked by her husband inside the wall alive. The hole was professionally covered. Actually bodies hidden behind a wall is a very popular way to keep interest into the movie.
Another interesting movie about an old house that needs a huge renovation is "The Money Pit" (1986) where Hanks had to deal with some constructors. And a short scene in "Mr. Mom" (1983) explains that not every constructor or handyman is a professional. The "Construction" (2021) promises us a mix of comedy and romance with hard workers as main characters.
Most of the time producers and directors use buildings under-construction to let heroes destroy some surroundings. "Die Hard" (1988), "Darkman" (1990) and many others.
One interesting scene was found in "The Rookie" (2020). In the 2 season the main character (who worked as constructor before) was looking for evidence that was recently hidden in a wall. He started with demolition of some nicely done long time ago walls. Was it a real apartment or a specially built decoration?
